I don't understand how I'm supposed to know which one is the right one, but trial and error paid off! The only difference between the names of the v1.34 firmwares I was looking at is the extra '_R4' in the one that works for me. Thanks! I tried again and FINALLY, I happened to see the firmware that works without a hitch! I was using the wrong R4SDHC version. It was on a broken DS that was given to me (I like fixing things.)
